To empower all people aged 12-25 years to access appropriate services and enable
them to make informed choices about all aspects of their health and well being.
- Service users have a right to be clear about what to expect from Health Spot. Information
should be clear, accessible and reflect the complexity of health issues and services.
- Service users should be encouraged to be autonomous and feel able to make their own
decisions about their health in a way that enables them to respect themselves and
others.
- Practical skills such as assertiveness and the development of self-esteem are central
to the facilitation of good health.
- All health issues should be talked about honestly in a manner that promotes positive
discussion.
- Health Spot services should be accessible to all and affirm diversity at all times.
- Professionals should strive for a consistent, non-judgemental, empathetic approach,
which values all service users and challenges discrimination.
- Service users have a right to be involved in health promotion interventions at every
level.
- Health Spot practice should be evidence based; using a range of needs assessments
and research. This will form a platform for innovative and creative work based on
actual as opposed to perceived need.
